I became a certified Parent Coach with Tina Feigal M.S., Ed., author and founder of the Center for the Challenging Child. She also has been the resident Parent Coach for the Minneapolis/St. Paul NBC affiliate KARE 11 T.V.

My journey to realizing my desire to coach parents comes from the wonderful experiences I've enjoyed raising my own three children. They are adults now and living lives that make me proud and happy. The techniques I have learned and the philosophies of the program can be applied to almost any family. Any parent or caregiver who would like practical tips on improving the behaviors of their children while fostering a loving and accepting environment can benefit from my services.

My many years of volunteer work were also instrumental in my choice to pursue this certification. They include: Minneapolis Children's Hospital where I worked with infants to adolescents. Park Nicollet Melrose Clinic for Eating Disorders where I worked at the front desk, welcoming, directing and answering questions of patients and their families. My training included extensive education on eating disorders and how to communicate with patients. West Suburban Teen Clinic where I met with patients to take their medical information and talk to them about what their needs were for visiting the clinic and Pax Christi Church where my husband Phil and I work one on one with engaged couples as facilitators in preparation for their marriage. We are also on the Leadership Team which organizes the program and sets up training sessions to continually improve our program.

Learning from Tina was a very moving experience for me and I feel extremely passionate about teaching parents these cutting edge techniques. This approach is all about "present moment parenting". Among other things, it includes noticing successes in the child, learning the power of non-judgmental communication and how to use time-outs for breaking rules. The beauty of this way of parenting is that you see results right away. Parents are happy and grateful to have the tools I give them because they want so much to be good loving parents and see their family happy and enjoying each other.

I feel so fortunate to have the opportunity to help families learn these techniques and I am committed and dedicated to being the best, most compassionate and helpful Parent Coach I can be. I truly feel that these parenting techniques will change the world through the generations.

Warmest Regards,

Isabel
